We believe you should have the opportunity to know, as far as possible, how much a case will cost you and to make an informed decision...
Now that's WISDOM!
Work carried out by Wisdom Solicitors is charged on the basis, and according to the rates, notified to you at your first meeting with us and confirmed in writing.
In all cases Court fees, Expert fees, bulk copy fees and other such charges (traditionally referred to as Disbursements) are additional to the rates notified.
VAT where applicable and at the applicable rate will be added as required. Don't blame us its the Chancellors fault!
The charge rates will be reviewed at least annually at the beginning of March and notified to Clients in writing. All annual changes effective from 5th April following review.

We charge our clients on the following basis:
Time Spent Basis
This means that each hour is broken up into ten six minute units.
You are charged for the number of units, or part thereof, spent on your matter at the
hourly rate of the fee earner carrying out the work as categorised by the court
according to the number of years qualified.
Fixed Fee.
Where a fixed fee is quoted all work included in the price will be stated. The fee will ONLY include the work stated in writing.
Estimates.
We will try and give as accurate an estimate as we can from the information given to us. However, an estimate is just that and is based on the likely cost of matter similar to yours.No two cases are ever exactly alike. It is also NOT a fixed price.
Please note that we will confirm the basis of charging and any estimates at the start of the retainer and update you regularly.
Payment on Account
All fixed fees are required to be paid up front at the first meeting. In ALL other cases we will require a sum to paid on account of our costs and any disbursements incurred on your behalf. It is a requirement of your contract with us that this sum is maintained.
Invoices
We will normally invoice you on a monthly basis. Occasionally where it is convenient we will invoice at the end of a piece of work or stage of proceedings. We find that such regular invoicing allows clients to assess their costs on an ongoing basis.
Our payment terms are strictly 28 days from date of invoice.
